Welcome to my blog MegSpot ....
My name is Meg and I live in Perth, Western Australia. I have a great love for patchwork, embroidery, making bags, quilts, nicnacs and soft toys. I live with my partner and have three beautiful children and two dogs.
I love to attend workshops with designers and have been fortunate to work with Leanne Beasley, Rosalie Quinlan, Gail Pan, Pam Holland, Wendy Brigg, Patty McCormick ...
It's not long until Urban Stitches 2011. I am coming from Perth with 3 friends. I get so excited being able to stitch, catch up with friends, laugh, eat yummy food, drink wine (not too much) ..............
I have to tell you also that I am doing something so amasing .... I'm going to "Imagine Vietnam" (I cant believe it and on my own) in October with Leanne, Rosalie and Melly. If you are going, let me know.
I was lucky enough to attend a workshop with Rosalie Quinlan and Leanne Beasley last year in New Zealand. It was such a blast, I met many beautiful people.
Some of my favourite things that Leanne Beasley has designed, isn't she clever.
I had to show you this photo. This photo was taken at Mount Ruapehu, Turoa about three hours before shot below.
And then there was lots of snow, doesn't it look beautiful.
Here is some photos of work that I have currently completed or working on.
I joined Christmas is July with Sarah from Quilt Fabric Delights, it was sooooo much fun. I just need more hours in my day to complete the projects.
I love working on Blocks of the Month (I'll confess that I am not too good and finishing them). I see another one created and want to join that one too. My goal this year is to finish one.
I receive Leanne Beasley's Vignette Magazine and just love turning the pages over and over, I am so inspired. I have the fabrics and cottons already to go, just need to start it. The recipes are amasing, I have made the chicken soup many time (family favourite), the berry pudding (another favourite), the lemon juice (yummy) - so much to do.
I have my two daughters hooked on making hexagons, one is 8 and other 12. They started, had friends stay over, they've started and then talked at school and have more girls. I am so surprised, the girls stitches are beautiful, they are all very clever. Ive let them use my scrap bag, the girls flowers look so different. I thought they would make a walk hanging, lap quilt - nope they are hookey and aiming for a double bed quilt. I am a little worried what the teachers are going to say if they don't get their homework done :)
These are some projects that I worked on at Immerse Retreat in the Yarra Valley last year. I am so excited, I am going to the Urban Retreat in September this year. I will have some show and tell yippee!!
I thought you might like to see my sewing studio. It is a little messy, I am getting it set up. I love lots of colour, fabrics and cottons. I have been really busy making my girls dance costumes - they have about 20 new costumes each year.
